The Coal-Liquefying Reactor is core equipment in the process of direct coal liquefaction. Usually it is a tall, heavy vessel with thick shell, and worked at high pressure and temperature. The reactor used in Shen Hua Group's Industrial demonstration unit was the largest and heaviest reactors in the world in 2007. For such tall equipment, seismic load should be concerned.
In this paper, a FE model was established for the global analysis of the Coal- Liquefying Reactor, which considered the global dynamic effect due to the seismic load of this 2000-ton system by ANSYS.
The seismic analysis of this important towering equipment is always a hot focus and a difficult issue in engineering design. This paper sets the Coal-Liquefying Reactor as an example, carries out some preliminary research work, gives the implementation steps of such analysis and shares the ideas of such analysis. Meanwhile, the distribution of the stress at the key parts with time could be obtained from this transient dynamic analysis, and the results are more accurate than the experience design. It provides valuable data for the subsequent strength analysis and optimization design.
